About the upper and lower waters, and what happened among them and between them.
“And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the firmament, and the waters which were above the firmament.”
How was the world of division created? The world we live in. The constant tension between good and evil, between perfection and imperfection, between desire and ability, between the Creator and the created, between the divine and the human. This tension – which we see as a natural thing – is what created the ‘free space’, the emptiness, into which G-d created the worlds of creation-production-doing.
We will investigate, discuss, and try to understand what the ancient Kabbalists taught and how they explained them. It is not clear that we will understand everything, but we will at least enjoy the trip.
