Water of changes – Ukrainian Jews in Israel (PL)

During the lecture, Dr. Ewa Węgrzyn will outline the historical background of the events that led to the mass emigration of Jews from the former Soviet Union to Israel. She will also describe the phenomenon of Ukrainian Jews making aliyah due to the war in Ukraine. We will discuss the relationship between Ukrainian immigrants and the State of Israel and comment on the involvement of this group in the political and cultural life of contemporary Israel. The issues of humanitarian activity of the Israeli authorities in helping civilians who have been harmed due to the armed conflict will also be discussed.
