Sex and the ancient Israelite woman – workshops with Abraham Havivi (EN)

30.06.2022 - 11:00 / JCC Krakow, ul. Miodowa 24

The Bible tells us (in the Book of Exodus) that the copper wash basin in the Temple of God, where the priests washed their hands and feet before performing the daily ritual service, was made of the bronze mirrors donated by the Israelite women. By studying some of the traditional Jewish commentaries on this passage, we will see how, despite the hardships of slavery in Egypt, these clever women used water as a part of their strategy to stimulate marital intimacy and thus perpetuate the Jewish People.
