Israel, Egypt, and God at the Red Sea – workshops with Abraham Havivi (EN)
30.06.2022 - 17:00 / JCC Krakow, ul. Miodowa 24The Bible tells us (in the Book of Exodus) that after the People of Israel left slavery in Egypt and crossed the Red Sea on dry land, the pursuing Egyptian army drowned as the Sea closed in on them. By studying some of the traditional Jewish commentaries on this passage, we will try to understand the traumatized Israelites’ desire for vengeance and see that God took a broader view of the Egyptians’ humanity than they were able to at that moment.
